Heckuva Job, McCain!

You know, I’m a big Obama supporter, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have positive things to say about McCain. Take for instance his meeting today with evangelical giants Billy Graham and Franklin Graham. It had looked earlier like McCain was fumbling the important Graham blessing, and Obama bested him by getting to Franklin Graham first.

To his credit, McCain had his own private meeting with some evangelical B-listers. (I mean, just because I’ve never heard of them doesn’t mean they’re not, like, important, to someone.)

Now, in the wake of McCain’s one-on-one meeting with Billy, Franklin, and Ricky Skaggs (hey, who invited him?!), McCain has garnered this rousing “endorsement” from the younger Graham: “I was impressed by his personal faith and his moral clarity on important social issues facing America today.” Folks, that’s code for: “Yes, he’s a Christian, and he’s pro-life and anti-gay.”

But here’s the real beauty of McCain’s meeting today (and I applaud him for this brilliant campaign strategery) : He looks downright young sitting next to the very old and very age-marked elder Graham! Just take a look:

I predict a lot more McCain appearances on The Larry King Show, and perhaps some campaign appearances with celebrity supporters like Mickey Rooney, Phyllis Diller, and Abe Vigoda!

Just had to say that the “Ricky Skaggs (hey who invited him?)” comment made me laugh! The list of evangelical celebrities is wierd… case in point: Paul Crouch

Would McCain have impressed if he had set with Reverend Jeremiah Wright?
