AI: It’s Not Just for Artificial Intelligence Anymore

… although “things you learn from reading blogs” could be considered “artificial intelligence,” I suppose … Here are a couple new, interesting meanings for the acronym AI:

Ambient Intimacy — the feeling of connection that social networking and microblogging platforms (such as Twitter) create through the regularity and transparency of information being shared (my summary)

Appreciate Inquiry — “asking questions about where God has been at work and then stoking the imagination as to how to further participate in these ways as a body” (Mark Lau Branson, author of Memories, Hopes, and Conversations: Appreciative Inquiry and Congregational Change) or, as Len Hjalmarson puts it, “a systematic discovery of what gives life to a living system (i.e., in our case an organization) when it is most alive, effective and constructively capable … the art and practice of asking questions, of asking the ‘unconditional positive question’.” (More from Len on AI)(also, see my take on AI over on my KingdomJournalism blog)

maybe it stands for “animal intelligence”. do we want a systematic discovery of a “what”, which gives life to a living “system”? didn’t we already try that by building a tower that reaches to heaven?
