Clinton’s Rovian Deception
I just want to make sure everyone is aware of the deception Hillary Clinton tried to pull over the eyes of the American people today. While on the campaign trail, she “ripped” Barack Obama over what she called “blatantly false” mailers sent out by the Obama campaign on the subjects of universal health care and NAFTA.
Clinton blasted Barack for having “a campaign that has the worst kind of tactics reminiscent of the same sort of Republican attacks on Democrats … tactics that are right out of Karl Rove’s playbook.” She added, quite dramatically, “This is wrong, and every Democrat should be outraged! … Shame on you, Barack Obama!”
Well, I’m not a Democrat—and, BTW, someone should remind Mrs. Clinton that the Democratic nominee is going to need more than just the support of Democrats to win the White House in November—but I’ll tell you what outrages me: Clinton’s “bigoted lie” earlier in the campaign. That was a classic Rovian tactic that was particularly despicable because of its racial nature. There are many more marks of Karl Rove on the Clinton campaign, just read “Clinton’s Rovian Gambit Against Obama.”
The thing that seems obvious to me is that Clinton, realizing her own Rovian/Carvillian tactics have been revealed (and are really revolting), is attempting to attach that very criticism onto her opponent in an attempt to deflect attention off of herself and further smear Obama unjustly. It is really Mrs. Clinton’s campaign that deserves those labels and the repulsion that comes along with them. Obama rightly identified her outburst this morning as “tactical” and “hard to swallow.” It makes me want to vomit, honestly. I hope her tactic backfires bigtime.
Don’t believe the Clintonian lie machine. Obama is not a Muslim, and his campaign is not conducting anything remotely Rovian. That label only truly applies to Clinton herself.
